The shipping was really quick. I kind of wondered if they were trying extra hard to impress me or get ahead of any complaints, but either way, it got here fast and I’m not complaining...

I accidentally ordered the wrong size and had to exchange it. The return process did go through, but it took longer than I thought it would, and the updates weren’t super clear along the way. Customer service did get back to me, which helped, but overall it felt a little clunky. Not a terrible experience, just something that could be smoother. Did anyone else have the same issue with slow updates?

North River Outdoors was okay overall. They do carry some good brands, and I found a couple of decent things, but the selection felt hit or miss. A few items I was looking for only had limited sizes or options, which was kind of frustrating. I also thought some of the extra displays felt unnecessary when the basics weren’t fully stocked. Not a bad place at all, but for outdoor gear, I expected a little more variety. I’d stop in again, but it probably wouldn’t be my first choice...

The item itself seems fine and works as expected, which I’m happy about. That said, the box arrived dented, so I was a little worried when I opened it. Luckily, nothing inside was damaged, but better packaging would definitely make the delivery feel more reliable...

I picked up a jacket from North River Outdoors and I’ve been happy with it so far. It’s been through a couple of rainy days, some muddy trails, and a few weekend hikes, and it still looks surprisingly good. Even the little things, like the stitching around the cuffs and pockets, have held up with no busted seams or loose threads.

I was really hoping to love this jacket, but the stitching started coming loose after just two hikes. Not exactly what I expected, haha. It’s still wearable for now, but I’m a bit disappointed with the overall quality.

It ended up coming several days late. Customer service did respond when I reached out, but they didn’t really give me much of an explanation. The product itself was fine, so I can’t say the whole experience was terrible, but I’d probably hesitate to order again if I needed something by a certain date.

I picked up this rain jacket for a camping trip, it did exactly what I needed. It rained for most of Saturday, got windy too, and I still stayed dry — plus it didn’t get that gross clammy feeling my old jacket always had.
Shipping was totally fine, and the sizing was about what I expected. I’m happy with it! Definitely glad I had it with me, and I’d buy it again before another trip.

I’d probably give northriveroutdoors.com 4 stars. I was mainly happy with the range of stuff they had, like jackets, boots, bags, and camping gear. It felt fairly easy to browse, which was reassuring because I don’t always know exactly what I’m looking for at first. A few items were missing the size or color I wanted, which was a little frustrating, but overall the selection was better than a lot of smaller outdoor sites I’ve tried. I’d feel comfortable checking there again.

It kept me really warm all weekend, like, way better than I expected. The insulation is, you know, actually really solid and did a great job.
